Black Women Must Be Proud
I am a Carribean woman, Black, who takes pride in Blackness and Womanhood. Modern Black women were born with the weight of history. Their ancestors have been fighting for more than three generations to transmit their cultures, traditions, and heritage, while being the victims of psychological and physical violence. She, despite suffering and humiliation, raised her head. She was a martyr, because she was a woman with black skin. We Black women, us, we have to be proud of our heritage. We are the only race that embodies every shade, but have only one color. Light skin or dark skin, Indians, Africans or mixed peoples, we stay Black.
